The Pre Mother’s Day Lunch is an annual fundraising event hosted by Traverse Alpine Group in support of Betty’s Place Women’s Refuge. Held each year in Albury, the event brings together local businesses, community members and supporters for an afternoon focused on raising awareness and vital funds for women and children impacted by domestic and family violence in our community.
Since launching in 2020, the Pre Mother’s Day Lunch has grown into one of Albury’s most significant charity events, raising more than $610,000 for Betty’s Place Women’s Refuge and supporting the expansion of critical accommodation and support services in our local community.
The event features inspiring guest speakers, live entertainment, raffles, live auctions, premium food and beverages, and powerful conversations that encourage awareness, education and community support around domestic violence.
The 2026 Pre Mother’s Day Lunch was our biggest event yet, raising a record-breaking $220,000 for Betty’s Place. More than 240 guests attended the event at Mirambeena Community Centre in Lavington, with funds helping support the new core and cluster accommodation development for women and children fleeing domestic violence in the Albury-Wodonga region.
We were honoured to welcome domestic violence survivor and advocate Simone O’Brien as guest speaker, whose powerful story and advocacy left a lasting impact on all who attended.
Betty’s Place provides crisis accommodation, support services and pathways to safety for women and children escaping domestic and family violence throughout the Border region.
The service is operated by Yes Unlimited and plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable women and families during times of crisis.
The next Pre Mother’s Day Lunch will be held on Friday 30 April 2027 in Albury. Event details and ticket information will be available on this page from March 2027.
