The official 2021 Winter Snow season is from Saturday 12 June to Sunday 3 October 2021.
The low season is June and September with July and August the peak season.
The first 3 weeks of July are generally busy with school holidays.
Pre-season is May, this is when we have venue supervisors and head chefs start. This is followed by a pre-opening team starting early June and then the balance of the team start mid to late June to be ready for the school holidays.
TAG provide employees with access to shared staff accommodation on the mountain. Staff accommodation rooms sleep 2-4 people and have ensuite bathrooms. Your accommodation will be allocated to you by HR. There are facilities to prepare meals for yourself. For more details on the accommodation properties please click here.
Rent is charged weekly and deducted from pay. Rent includes bed linen and utilities (gas/power). BYO towels/face washer etc. An accommodation bond is also required. Your bond can be paid up front or deducted from pay. The bond is returned to you after departure when your room is left how you found it.
Pre-season, there are limited public transport options. There are coaches to Mount Beauty (located at the base of the mountain). TAG can assist with transfers from Mount Beauty to Falls Creek on request for arrivals.
Once the season starts, there are coach transfers available from Melbourne, Wangaratta and Albury.
All vehicles driving to Falls Creek need to have a resort entry & parking permit and must also carry snow chains. As a TAG employee, you will have access to a discounted Mountain Staff Vehicle Pass. This pass must be purchased in advance from Falls Creek resort Management (FCRM) and displayed on your vehicle. If you do not have a valid permit, FCRM will issue a fine.
Road 24 Parking – Free Parking. There is a free parking option located 5km from the resort at Road 24. To park in this area, you are still required to have a Road 24 Permit displayed on your vehicle and you are also required to carry snow chains.
The best value option for access to the slopes is the EPIC pass. https://www.epicaustraliapass.com.au/epic-australia-pass
Initial deposit is $49 with the balance due in May. The EPIC pass price increases as we get closer to the season. Once the season starts, the EPIC pass is not available for purchase.
You can bring your own gear or you can hire skis/boots/poles or board/boots at Falls Creek.
From your accommodation, it’s an easy walk through the village to Astra, Huski Kitchen and Frying Pan Inn. To get to Cloud 9, you walk to the Halley’s Comet Chairlift and take the chairlift up to Cloud 9 which is located at the top of the chairlift. When you have finished your shift, you can take the chairlift back down, this is referred to as ‘downloading’. If you have valid lift pass, you can ski or snowboard down at the end of your shift.
At the end of the winter season, all of the Falls Creek venues close for a period of time.
Frying Pan Inn re-opens for the green ‘summer season’ and Murmeli opens as summer guest accommodation. We do have some casual summer positions available in Falls Creek and also at The Boat Shed in Albury. Expressions of interest are welcome to [email protected]
